Volunteers are the backbone of New Leash on Life! Without you we cannot accomplish our mission. Many of our programs are primarily staffed with volunteers.
A decision to be a volunteer for New Leash should be well thought out and not an emotional one. In order to be a true help you must be able to say yes to the following questions, you must be reliable and honest about your available time. Our biggest problem with staffing is those who say they will help and cancel at the last minute. We understand that emergencies come up, but this should be the exception, not the norm.
|
Do you really have the time to give?
Do you make it a habit to be punctual?
Do you take responsibility seriously?
If you must cancel plans or appointments, do you give reasonable advance notice?
Do you follow through on projects?
Do you get along and work well with others?
Are you strongly committed to the projects you are involved with?
Can you keep confidential information?
Can you adhere to policies and procedure in a (even though your opinions may be slightly different) while
working with an organization?
Do you finish task that you have been assigned?
Would you be willing to receive training for a new job?
Do you know when to ask for support or direction?
Do you support the organization by promoting their policies
throughout the community, even when your not on duty?
|
If you answered yes to all of these questions and can help please contact us.
